To all Colonials;
Greetings everyone, and I hope you are enjoying the off season of Battlestar Galactica as much as I am.
NOT! My gods I can't wait until Season 4! Unfortunately it has been announced by the producers and the
Sci-Fi channel that it will be the last of the series. Kicking the Season off with a 2 hour episode called
"Razor" in November, and then continuing in January.
I know your asking the same question I have several times. What does that mean for us? BSG will
continue to live on forever as long as us the fans do not let it disappear from fandom. It is up to us as fans
and as the first and only chapter based BSG fan club to organize together, and stay united through this
struggle of maintaining commitment to the CDF and what she stands for. We must continue to carry the
torch, no matter what the cost.
I would like to cover some topics of interest that will keep us motivated, and growing stronger during the
summer months to come, into Season 4, and beyond...

Battlestar Fan Club affiliation:
We are days away from signing a formal treaty with our new found friends, the Battlestar Fan Club. This
will certainly introduce many joint missions with the BFC during conventions, and any other fan related
activity. As soon as the treaty is signed, it will be available for public viewing.

BSG Question and Answer session Los Angeles, CA: June 6, 2007
SCI FI Channel is inviting fans of BSG to a panel discussion with the cast and crew in Los Angeles,
followed by a sneak peek at the upcoming fourth season. The question-and-answer session with executive
producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick and stars of the show will take place at the Cinerama Dome
theater, 6360 W. Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles, on June 6 at 8 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served
basis.
The panel will be moderated by cast member Lucy Lawless, who will be joined by co-stars Edward James
Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber and Katee Sackhoff. It will be followed by a peek at Battlestar
Galactica's fourth season, which returns to SCI FI Channel in January 2008.
As a special bonus, the first 500 fans in line will be allowed in at 6 p.m. for a screening of the season-three
finale, "Crossroads, Part 2," in high definition. I will be going along with several other CDF members. This
should be an excellent event for BSG and to get the word out there about the CDF.

Comic Con San Diego, CA: July 26-29, 2007
The CDF will be teaming up with the BFC for Comic Con in San Diego this year. We will have a recruitment
table with them, and possibly being joined by Richard Hatch. If you planning on being there during the
convention, please stop by and say hello. We could always use some extra help in manning the table as
well.

Dragon Con Atlanta, GA: August 31 – September 3, 2007
The CDF will be showing a big Colonial contingent at this years Dragon Con. We will be marching in the
costume parade, enjoying each others company, and having a Colonial Day party. I look forward to
meeting everyone from the 8th Fleet and others that will be there as well. This is going to be a blast, so
stand by!

The Official Battlestar Galactica Convention Burbank, CA: November 16-18, 2007
The CDF will be again teaming up with the BFC to man a recruitment table. This is going to be a great
convention for BSG fans and CDF members. I look forward to having a great time and kicking off Season
4 with no better way than at a con.

Season 4 and beyond: "Everything that has a beginning has an end" - The Oracle
We always new from the beginning of the show this would happen, but to me it doesn't mean anything
other than its simply not on the air. The spirit of BSG lives, and it lives within us. I encourage all CDF
members and chapters to watch BSG when it is on, even if your not home. Turn the TV on and set it to the
Sci-Fi channel. This will make ratings go up, and with any luck make people rethink about their choice. We
must continue to serve the Colonial Fleet, gathering as we do, watching the show together as friends and
chapters, and continue to build the CDF, expand what we already have, and make it work. We have come
this far and so we are not stopping or turning back. We shall go further.
I hope you will join me in the days, weeks, months, and years to come with Battlestar Galactica. There are
always possibilities, and just because they are taking this show off the air, doesn't mean it won't be
replaced by another BSG type series. Battlestar Galactica has been around for 30 years. It isn't going
anywhere.

SO SAY WE ALL

Signed,
