Dear Friends and fellow members of the Colonial Defense Forces:

Official word has come down from the Office of the President a few hours ago, care of Lt. Cade
Valdor, the Chief Transmission Specialist of the OoCP.

It is my extreme pleasure to formally announce that the Articles of Colonization has officially been
ratified through an official general-membership public plebiscite of the Colonial Defense Forces,
which ended September 7, 2007.

The CDF now has a formal charter outlining, in broad strokes, the character of the CDF membership
and organization, while still maintaining the status quo for all processes, procedures, organizational
structures, positions, roles and functions that it currently has.  The AoC does not change the
character of the CDF, but it only enhances, by putting in black-and-white what we CDF members have
been following almost instinctually.

There have been many questions raised regarding the various provisions of the AoC, and some
ommissions that certain members seem to think have been committed.  I am here to tell you that the
Colonial Council tried its hardest to reflect the needs, positions and beliefs of all colonials in making
the AoC.  For example, the AoC has left much of the machinery of the CDF military organization out in
deference to the military leadership and the military organization already in place, with only a few
provisions to establish the constitutional source for the military, as well as for the council, the
executive branch and the CDF's equivalent to a judiciary, which is the Colonial Judicial Tribunal.  It is
in these constitutional constructs that the membership will find itself more self-actualized and
empowered, as we will all know the basis on which our actions are rooted in.  It is important to know
this as it will give us a foundation on which to chart our future.

To answer any concerns about the AoC, your councilors, as always, remain available to answer any
concerns you may have.  Please do not hesitate in contacting your own fleet councilors, or the Office
of the Council Chair.

Over and above this, the Office of the Council Chair is closely working with Education Secretary
Franklin Kennedy to establish the College of Political Sciences in the Colonial University, which he will
be launching very soon.  Enrollees to the College will be able to understand the AoC better, and find
out the answers to the Hows, Whats, Wheres and Whys of the AoC.  I encourage everyone who have
concerns about the AoC to enroll, or at least attend the seminars that will be conducted by the
College.

Also, it is with great pride that I hereby formally turn over to the CDF the formal "signed" AoC,
electronically signed by both Fleet Admiral Gastineau and Colonial President West.  Admiral
Gastineau has assured me a week ago that this will be quickly uploaded in the CDF site as soon as
he receives it.

With this brave new document, let us forge on ahead and traverse these uncharted waters with a
renewed sense of security in the stability of the CDF, and help secure the continuity of the CDF
beyond Season Four, and beyond the forseeable future.

So Say We All.
