This year marked not only the 30th Anniversary of the world that is Battlestar Galactica, but also the debut of the Battlestar Hyperion and the Colonial
Defense Forces and Norwescon. For those that do not know, Norwescon is one of the largest local Science Fiction/Fantasy Conventions held each
Easter weekend in the Seattle, Washington area.
The crew of the Hyperion set up a display and recruitment table in the Convention Lobby. Over the course of four days, we recruited a total of 21 new
members to the ship and to the CDF. It was definitely a great weekend. We had the opportunity to meet several members of the fandom community
that had an interest in Battlestar Galactica, as well as the chance to see many great costumes from both the RDM and the Original Series.
I would like to extend a heartfelt Welcome to all the new members of the crew. May you find and enjoy many years of fun and memories aboard the
vessel.
Additionally, I would like to extend Thank You's to Major Barnes, Captain Seele, Lt. Cloud and Lt. JG K. Foulger, who staffed the table throughout the
weekend. Without them, there would have been many cricket's chirping at the table.
