CAPTAIN JOSEPH HAIGHT

Captain Haight commands all pilots on board the Hyperion
and is tasked with training all new pilots assigned to the
ship.
The Captain is both Viper and Raptor Pilot qualified,
although if you ask him, he will tell you that he prefers to fly
the Raptors. His diligence, enthusiasm and attention to
duty, keeps the pilots on board the Hyperion on their toes at
all times.

Known as "The Guardians of the Fleet", Pilots are charged with the duties of protection and reconnaissance missions. Pilots are officers in the Colonial
Fleet trained and qualified to operate a Viper fighter or a Raptor multipurpose vehicle.
Once pilot candidates, or "nuggets", complete their basic flight and combat training, they are known as "rooks". Nuggets may receive training in simulators if
available. A flight-qualified pilot wears basic pilot wings on the uniform's left breast. Senior-rated pilots, or "Top Guns" wear a variation with outstretched
wings.

Senior Pilots or "TOP GUNS" are those Pilots who have taken the Viper or Raptor Qualification Exams
administered by the CDF Fleet CAG, and have scored 100% on the exam. They are known throughout the
fleet as the "Best of the Best".
