Greetings Colonials,
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a great New Years. Now that the holiday's have passed, it's time to get
back into the swing of things. Back to Galactica. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of The Original Series
and beginning of the end of the Re-imagined Series. We have alot of work ahead of us, to keep going and grow
even more.
- Season 4 -
We have a premiere date of April 4th. That gives us all time to organize premiere parties and events for the
beginning of the end. Lets not pass up the opportunity to make this fraking awesome! It's up to us to show the
fan community what we are all about.
- Membership -
In our Colonial population we have seen it jump up and down throughout the year. We have seen chapters
come and go. We have had our ups and downs, our triumphs and our mistakes. In the end, we are still a Fleet,
and still here for one common interest and goal. This organization is about quality, not quantity. Lets keep that
in focus.
- Chapters/Fleets -
Expanding and building our Chapters and Fleets is always a goal, but making the CDF well known in our various
areas of the world is the duty of each Chapter/Fleet. Do your part as a member to make it known who we are
and what our purpose is. New recruitment ideas can always be brought to the table, and we are always thinking
of new ways to improve what we have.
- Conventions -
There are many conventions coming up this year. Farpoint, Starfest, All Con, Comic Con, Dragon Con, and The
Official BSG Convention just to mention a few. The CDF will be represented at all of these conventions. This is
our chance to recruit and bring in more Colonials to the Fleet.
- Colonial Wireless -
The Octagon is going to do its best to bring you more episodes of Colonial Wireless this year. Unfortunately due
to scheduling conflicts we have been unable to do so recently. But, don't loose faith. We'll be back on the air
shortly.
- BSGA -
Our Alliance with several other BSG groups including the BSG Fan Club will be showing again this year during
several events, several conventions, and a possible Season 4 Premiere party. We are all in this together!
- 2008 Presidential Election -
In September 2008, the Colonial Government will be holding our 2nd Presidential Election that is sure to
generate a lot of interest in the Fleet. I'm hopeful there will be a campaign for the election several months prior
to including debates on Colonial Wireless, etc. For further information on the election process, please review the
Articles of Colonization or contact your Council Representative or the Office of the President.
I want to thank you all for staying with us through the storms, and now lets all focus on the things to come. So
with that in mind, this years slogan for the CDF will be "30 years of fleeing and fighting..."
